Chiropody

People over 60 are entitled to free chiropody through the NHS. This however may be hard to obtain.

Breast Screening

Women between the ages and 50 and 70 are entitled to free breast screening and will be invited every three years. Women aged over 70 are still entitled to free screening and can refer themselves every three years to their GP.

Prostate Cancer

Prostate cancer is the most common cancerin men. Of the 27,000 men diagnosed with prostate cancer in the UK each year most are over 60. Symtoms include difficulty or pain while urinating or, less commonly, blood in the urine, or pain in the lower back, hips or pelvis.

Similar symptons can also be caused by less serious prostate promblems which can be treated. In all cases you should talk to your GP as soon as possible.
